However, history itself has been in charge of denial, at least partially. The proliferation of idiots who reached the summit of power by the simple virtue of their lineage is more than enough proof.
Probably the oldest case of symbiosis between power and stupidity happened four centuries before the Christian era, when Xerxes, king of Persia, ordered the Hellespont Sea was struck with three hundred lashes and branded with hot iron for an alleged offense to imperial majesty.
Very interesting to ponder.
